Everything was gone. I figured it was no big deal—it wasn't the first time I'd lost data, so I was already used to it. Your habit is definitely better; having backups means you can still look back at the things you wrote so long ago. :)

I mainly look at it from two perspectives:

  1. I don't just ask if it's "worth $100," but rather how much it actually helps me get things done—things I've wanted to do for a long time but couldn't seem to make progress on. If the results match my needs, I feel like I can accept the cost, even if it's steep.
  2. The exchange rate definitely makes the problem feel bigger. For people in higher-income regions, $100 might just be a few takeout orders or lunches. But in the context of RMB, the purchasing power is completely different, and that amount could cover a lot more.

I really do hope that these kinds of AI products will offer more localized regional pricing in the future (wherever local laws and regulations allow, of course).
