• Your submitted data: Content you submit (such as comments/messages) may be processed by AI features to generate replies, translations, story continuations, moderation signals, or ranking improvements. These prompts are limited to the task context where practical.
• AI chat records: When you use the AI assistant, we may store conversation content, an anonymous session identifier, timestamps, language, tool-use metadata, limited technical request information, and your locally saved display name if available. Email and website from comment profiles are not sent to the AI chat assistant or stored in new AI chat message rows. User-Agent is reduced to a coarse browser/device bucket.
• Retention: Raw AI chat messages are retained for up to 90 days. After that, raw messages are deleted, while privacy-minimized session summaries, tool-use records, referenced blog IDs, safety/rate-limit signals, and aggregate troubleshooting metadata may be retained for longer.
• AI worker logs: Runtime logs for AI workers are redacted and should not contain full emails, complete comment bodies, complete prompts, raw provider responses, large AI outputs, cookies, auth headers, raw User-Agent strings, or error stacks.
• AI audio storage: Podcast audio generated from article commentary may be stored in R2 object storage under article audio keys until replaced or manually removed. Logs keep only operational metadata such as keys, sizes, and durations.
• Admin review: The site owner/admin may review recent AI chats for debugging, safety, abuse prevention, and service improvement. Please do not submit sensitive personal information in AI chat.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies in three categories: necessary, functional, and analytics. Necessary cookies keep core features and admin authentication working. In regions where a cookie banner is shown, functional and analytics cookies can be selected there; in those regions, you can also reopen the settings later from the footer Cookie status entry.

• Admin authentication cookie (Necessary): Used only for admin login sessions and secure access. HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict, typically 30 days.

The server receipt may include consent versions, action, timestamp, page path, approximate country/region metadata, user agent, and referer.
