A Graduation Social?!
It is the fourth day already, and the whole training has almost reached its halfway point. Today I do not know where the teacher got the idea, but she suddenly asked us whether we wanted to hold a social event.
This article was extracted from my early NetEase blog. NetEase Blog is no longer operating, but looking back, these words are still quite interesting, so I decided to move them over as intact as possible. Mainly as a record; after all, it was a long time ago, so the quality of the writing, images, and links may all be affected.
This article was originally published on July 30, 2009. I was about 20 years old then and was in university.
It is the fourth day already, and the whole training has almost reached its halfway point. Today I do not know where the teacher got the idea, but she suddenly asked us whether we wanted to hold a social event. My god! All these daily on-stage self-introductions and sudden-attack little games have already scared several people away, and now she wants to hold a social event. It really deserves to be called the "marketing class." It looks like in the whole training school, our class is the most active one…
After a series of complicated discussions and a democratic vote, we set the social event for the last day of the training (that is, August 7), and each group also has to prepare two performances. Now all the group leaders have enough to be depressed about.
Hehe, luckily I did not take part in the election for class monitor or group leader back then. It is rare and nice to be free of office. But then again, our group has only eight people in total, and two of them are auntie-level people who probably will not prepare any performance. Among the remaining six people, several are relatively introverted… No matter how I calculate it, it is possible that it will be my turn to perform. Suddenly it does not feel fun at all… So I began calculating in my heart: should I show one of my skills? Or strike first and try for the host position? Sigh, why is it so hard to be a student these days?
Tomorrow is the fifth day. According to the teacher, every Friday afternoon there is a company job fair that comes into the class to recruit students. Thinking about it another way, almost everyone in this training is a student, and in September everyone has to go back to school. Would anyone really go to work? Or would any company be willing to hire part-time employees for 20 or 30 days??
No matter what, tomorrow I will still take a look first…!
