A White Reindeer, the Wind, and the Moment We Set Off

Some memories from the road do not come with a full story, but they stay because of a few strong images. A white reindeer, open land, wind coming in from far away, and that slightly lit feeling you get when a trip has just begun. Put together, they give a journey its own scent.

I wanted to keep this story because it feels more like a prelude than a recap. It is not here to explain where we went. It is here to make “far away” feel real. More often than not, what we remember first about a trip is not the route, but the moments that tell us we have already stepped outside ordinary life.
