How our daily life slowly unfolded with a child

So many changes in childhood don’t happen all at once. They arrive in small steps. A child begins to understand more during holidays. After kindergarten starts, she slowly grows her own friends, reactions, and rhythm. When you are beside her every day, it can be surprisingly hard to see how those changes are taking shape.

Weekends with kids do not have to mean going far away or planning something elaborate. Sometimes it is a trip to see reindeer, a walk through a mine, or a place you would not normally choose on purpose. The adults may start with nothing more than “let’s do something,” but the children often remember these quieter little adventures.
